Function/Installation Quide:

1.Insert a drain key into the bathtub drain basket. Make sure the drive screw is situated at the top and the expanding shoes are in the drain basket.

2.Turn the drive screw hand-tight, while holding the hex nut tightly, until the drain key shoes contact the side of the basket. The hex nut is just below the drive screw, near the top.

3.Attach an adjustable wrench onto both the drive screw and the hex nut once the drive screw can be no longer hand tightened.

4.Hold the wrench attached to the hex nut in place while turning the drive screw in a counterclockwise rotation. This will expand the shoes tightly against the old bathtub drain, gripping it firmly and imparting the rotational force of the drive screw directly onto the sides of the drain basket. Continue turning the drive screw until the drain basket breaks free. This may take some muscle to get the basket to free itself from the corroded threads, so take your time and turn slowly. The drain will come out.

5.Remove the drain basket by holding the drive screw wrench securely while turning the hex nut wrench in a counterclockwise rotation. This will retract the expanded shoes and allow the basket to fall away.
